We are a small group of people in Chorlton, Manchester, who are taking a creative approach to reducing food waste in the local area. We are craftisvists - you can read more about us here: www.chorltoncraftivists.org.uk and we are taking part in the local arts festival this year, raising awareness of issues related to food waste and sustainable living. We are crafting food items and stashing them around the local area for people to find and rehide, creating a game, discussions, engagement and interest in the topic and encouraging the community to take action to reduce food waste in our area.
We are also creating a network of interested and motivated people so that we can think more broadly and further ahead about initiatives that could reduce food waste in Chorlton through the development of motivated networks with local businesses as well as households.
